Carpet Installation

When you look over a large room with wall-to-wall carpet flooring you may wonder if the entire carpet was cut in one large piece to fit the room exactly. While this would be nice, it’s often not possible. Most carpets come in twelve feet wide sections; anytime your room is larger in both directions a seam is required. With quality carpet and expert installation, the result is a beautifully seamless carpet floor. Let’s review the process to see how carpet goes from loose sections to perfectly fitting a room.

Just like clothing, the carpet that covers the floor in a large room must be created in sections. However, this doesn’t mean that the seams will take anything away from the visual appeal of your wall-to-wall carpeting. Seasoned experts like our installers know how to manage your carpet seams to create the best visual appeal.

One caveat before we leave you to your carpet installation: the type of carpet you choose will affect how visible the seams are. Low pile, looped, or patterned carpets tend to show seams more than other types of carpets. If you really want to hide your seams, then plush carpet is one of the best choices, since the lush, thick carpet hides the seams. However, don’t depend on the carpet alone; a quality carpet installer will put extra care towards making your carpet seams as hidden as possible, no matter what type of carpet you choose.
