Shoes On or Off?
Removing your shoes will keep your floors cleaner and your family healthier.
Next time you walk into your home think about what is coming with you. Studies show that a variety of germs are introduced into your household from the soles of your shoes.
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article Is it Healthier to Remove Your Shoes at Home? that outlined the types of potentially harmful germs the studies found in homes. Bacteria ranging from Clostridium difficile, which was responsible for 20,000 + deaths in the US according to the Centers for Disease Control, to E.coli to Listeria were discovered.
Whatever you are walking on, in and through during the day is ending up on your floors. Yuck! The chances of contracting these diseases are low for those with a normal immune system, but why take the risk? Leave your shoes at the door.
